Cooktops

A good hob is used to cook all your favourite dishes. Choose between an induction hob, gas hob or glass ceramic hob, depending on what you like best. With us, you'll find high-quality hobs from well-known brands.

DIFFERENT TYPES OF HOBS - WHICH ONE TO CHOOSE?

If you are decorating your new kitchen, renovating or upgrading certain appliances, it can be difficult to know what to choose. When buying a cooktop, there are several options to choose from. There are different types of hobs.

INDUCTION COOKER

An induction hob is a popular choice where you build the hob into the worktop. It gives a minimalist and modern look. The induction hob heats pots and pans using magnetic technology. The cooking zone itself doesn't get hot, so if something boils over, it won't burn.

GAS HOB

A gas hob is a hob with regular plates but powered by gas instead of electricity. You light the gas with a lighter to switch on the plates.

GLASS CERAMIC HOB

A glass ceramic hob works like a normal hob. You put on a plate you want to use, which is heated by classic heat travelling from the plate up through the pot or pan. A glass ceramic hob is flat and can be easier to clean than standard hobs. The difference between a glass ceramic hob and an induction hob, both of which have become popular solutions, is heat efficiency. The induction hob heats up immediately when you switch it on and then cools down when you switch it off. A glass ceramic hob takes a while to cool down after you switch it off.

CAST IRON PLATE

The most traditional type of hob is the one with cast iron plates which also works well but usually consumes more electricity.

HOB WITH BUILT-IN FAN

You can also have a hob with a built-in extractor fan. The cooker hood is usually placed above the hob or cooker. On an induction hob with a built-in fan, the ventilation is located between the cooking plates. The fan draws air down through a grid in the hob to filters under the worktop.

HIGH QUALITY COOKTOPS FROM WELL-KNOWN BRANDS

In our range you will find cooktops from, for example, the German brand Gaggenau. Gaggenau induction cooktops are designed to provide the best results every time you cook. The induction hobs are available in different versions and have a clean, minimalist design that fits in with any kitchen interior. There are induction hobs with a built-in fan and other modern features.
