Accordion is a modern interpretation of the traditional folding table, designed by Lisa Hilland. The table is developed for homes that need more space when the moment calls for it, without compromising on expression, materiality or craftsmanship.
The construction is designed to switch between everyday needs and spontaneous occasions – extra space for guests, a larger workspace or a surface for creative activities. The elaborate mechanics mean that the Accordion retains its sculptural character in all positions: open, closed or half-folded.
The table gets its name from the slatted construction that opens and closes in a soft, rhythmic movement – a change of shape reminiscent of how an accordion unfolds and retracts.
