Cappellini

Cappellini

The family-owned company Cappellini was founded in 1946 in Milan, Italy by Enrico Cappellini. Cappellini is then a small company with no interest in exclusive design but with furniture production and craftsmanship as a specialty. In 1979, Enrico Cappellini's son Giulio Cappellini takes over the company and directs it into what will soon be one of the world's biggest trendsetters in designer furniture.

Cappellini constantly works with well-known international designers such as Shiro Kuramata, Jasper Morrison, and Marc Newson and the range includes several collections of Italian design that include everything from sofas and shelves to sinks and lamps.

One of the world's most famous Italian design companies

Cappellini is one of the most important and prestigious companies in Italian design. The company is synonymous with high quality, innovative furniture and a passion for art and design. Cappellini is a symbol of Italian craftsmanship and specialises in storage models for offices and private homes. As for the rest of their range, they produce bookcases, sofas, chairs and cabinets.

With their designs, Cappellini explores new ways of living. They mix cultures, different materials and languages. Geometric lines blend with both modern and traditional elements and it is precisely for this that Giulio Cappellini is world-renowned. Time Magazine has ranked him as one of the top 10 trendsetters of the modern era, and it is also Giulio Cappellini who made the breakthrough for great designers such as Jasper Morrison, Tom Dixon and the Bouroullec brothers.

In 2005, Cappellini was acquired by the Italian furniture company Poltrona Frau, which produces interiors for Maserati, Ferrari, Alfa Romei, Lancia and Porsche. The Poltrona Frau Group includes the company in a combination with Cassina.

Today, Cappellini's designs are exhibited in places all over the world, including the Victoria & Albert in London, the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Pompidou Centre in Paris. Cappellini is headquartered in Milan, Italy with showrooms and retailers in Los Angeles, Paris, Brussels, New York, Rome, London, Dubai, Florence and many more.
