637 Utrecht Limited Edition is an iconic armchair from Italian Cassina that is now being launched in an exclusive limited edition upholstery. The armchair was originally designed in 1935 by Gerrit T. Rietveld. It was designed for the Metz&Co Department Store in Amsterdam with the idea of making a piece of furniture that would be market adapted to a greater extent than before. The result was an armchair whose design is unique in its kind and with an original design language and futuristic elements. The straight armrests in contrast to the armchair's otherwise soft shapes are characteristic of the armchair and have made it a real classic.
The 637 Utrecht Limited Edition comes with a limited edition outfit inspired by nature. The pattern is reminiscent of the needles of the Scots pine, which was considered sacred in ancient Greece and was a symbol of creation and prosperity. The armchair is made of metal, polyester and polyurethane foam and the upholstery comes in 100% cotton.
