Selandia is a cushion from Fritz Hansen in Denmark, specially designed for furniture in the Selandia series. The collection is characterised by soft, gently curved lines and an elegant Nordic design language with subtle French influences, inspired by long summer evenings outdoors.
Selandia is designed for outdoor use and features ties that help keep the cushion in place. The upholstery is Oeko-Tex-certified and offers high colourfastness and lightfastness. The fabric is also water- and dirt-repellent and resistant to mould, making it suitable for varying weather conditions. The cushion’s foam has an open-cell structure that allows both water and air to pass through the material. This helps the cushion dry quickly after rain, while the foam provides firm, comfortable support and is designed to retain its feel over time. A separate version that meets local fire safety requirements is also available for the UK market. This variant is made with flame-retardant cold foam and, unlike the standard version, is not weather-resistant.
