Virkelyst is a smaller outdoor table from Fritz Hansen in Denmark, designed by design studio Says Who with Nikolaj Duve and Kasper Meldgaard. The table is part of the Virkelyst collection, characterised by clean lines, understated details and a modern, functional design language.
Its smaller size makes Virkelyst a flexible piece for different types of outdoor spaces. The table can be used as a side table next to an armchair or sofa, but also functions as a footstool when a more relaxed sitting position is desired. Its dual functions make it easy to adapt the piece to different situations and needs. Nikolaj Duve and Kasper Meldgaard draw inspiration from 1950s Danish design and combine it with a contemporary perspective. Their work through Says Who is rooted in the Scandinavian design tradition’s focus on simplicity and function, while also challenging established expressions and solutions. In Virkelyst, this is reflected in its pared-back form and practical, versatile use.
