J41 Chair is HAY's reproduction of Danish designer Børge Mogensen's classic chair. Made with a wide plywood seat and a frame that can be chosen in either oiled or matte lacquered oak, alternatively beech that is stained white or black. The J41 Chair is both durable and comfortable. The chair has a sloping backrest with a wide design that creates a strict look and offers a timeless quality.

Danish designer Børge Mogensen lived between 1914-1972 and is one of the great Danish designers of the twentieth century, known for his quality furniture and strong, minimalist designs. His designs are characterized by simple, solid lines and durable construction with clean aesthetics and precise proportions that personify Danish modernism. Among other things, he has studied furniture design at the Danish School Of Arts and Crafts, trained as a cabinet maker and studied architecture. Later he also became design director at the Danish cooperative association FDB. There, his focus was on creating well-designed and functional furniture that is manufactured industrially for the public. HAY has now recreated Mogensen's classic J41 and J42, which were part of the J series he designed during his time at FBD.
