The Pao Glass Pendant 350 pendant lamp is part of the Pao series from HAY and is designed by designer Naoto Fukasawa. The lamp is made of hand-blown opal glass that gives a beautiful glow. The diffuser is made of injection-molded opalescent acrylic (PMMA), which means that the Pao Glass Pendant 350 has no visible features and fittings on the surface. This way, it gets a seamless, clean aesthetic. The lamp has a 4 meter long braided fabric cable with silicone insulation.
The Pao series is characterized by Fukasawa's "super normal" aesthetic of beautiful minimalism, where everyday objects are given a place in the world of design. The inspiration for the Pao Glass Pendant 350 is taken from a trip to Mongolia, where traditional nomad tents called "Yurt" or in Japanese "Pao" lit up the surroundings during the night. Fukasawa fell in love with the glowing form that brought to mind the comfort, warmth and security of a home Pao Glass Pendant 350 creates a warm, directional light. The lamp is also available in a steel model, the Pao Steel Pendant in several different colors and sizes to choose from.
