The British brand Kilner was founded in 1842 by John Kilner. The company began its journey by producing glass bottles and jars. In 1900, Kilner introduced a patented vacuum seal for his jars that became revolutionary. The company is later passed on to Kilner's four sons, who manage the success story. In 1862, Kilner receives a prize at The Great Exhibition 1862 for innovation in glassmaking.
