Pollock is a lounge chair by Knoll, USA, originally designed in 1960 and reintroduced in 2015. The so-called "sling chair", also known as Model 657, combines steel and leather in a construction where the contrast between the materials creates a distinctive and balanced expression.
The supporting frame is defined by a metal rod that runs around the seat, serving as both structural support and a protective edge. This detail gives the chair its distinctive character while reflecting a thoughtfully engineered solution. The cowhide seat is suspended within the frame, creating gently flexible comfort, complemented by a leather-upholstered urethane foam cushion. Tubular steel legs with a polished chrome finish are paired with armrests and cross braces in black-painted cast aluminium. Stamped steel glides complete the construction. Over time, Pollock has established itself as an icon of the modern workplace, combining functionality, durability, and material precision in a timeless design.
