Stefan Andersson

Stefan Andersson is a ceramicist based in Dalarna, Sweden. His work brings together Japanese influences and the region’s craft traditions. In his wood-fired kiln, fire, ash and clay play an active role in the process, shaping the surfaces of his pieces.

Andersson began his career as an apprentice to his uncle, Jan-Åke Andersson, a Swedish pioneer of Chinese wood-firing techniques. He has created ceramics for several of Björn Frantzén’s restaurants, as well as Restaurant Äng in Sweden and Mont Bar in Barcelona, among others. For Nordiska Galleriet, he has developed a limited-edition collection of handmade ceramic cups in three versions.
