String metal shelf is a shelf from the Swedish brand String. It is part of the flexible String System, which was designed by Nisse Strinning in 1949 and is built to be adaptable over time.
The shelf is made of perforated metal with a low edge of 2 cm. It is available in widths of 58 cm and 78 cm and in depths of 20 cm and 30 cm, and fits together with wire or plexiglass end panels of corresponding dimensions. The discreet edge means that the metal shelves can easily be combined with wooden variants in the same system. The perforation makes the shelf compatible with accessories such as hooks, rods and spears, which makes it possible to adapt the function to the contents and room. Each package contains one shelf and can be used in the kitchen, hallway or workplace.
