Lampe de Bureau was designed in 1930 by Jean Prouvé and produced by Vitra. The new table lamp was designed specifically for the Cité Universitaire in the French city of Nancy. Lampe de Bureau is made of metal and comes in the colors Prouvé Bleu Marcoule and Prouvé Blanc Colombe. The lamp's glow is a warm white light that creates a cosy atmosphere.
Jean Prouvé was born in 1901 in Paris and is one of the most influential designers and architects of the 20th century. Considered a leading exponent of the modernist design movement, Prouvé began his career as an apprentice to various blacksmiths and metalworkers. Today, Vitra produces a number of Prouvés popular pieces. These are considered design icons of the past and are as popular today as they were when they were designed.
