Haussmann, also called The new Chesterfield, was designed in 1962 by Trix and Robert Haussmann as part of the Swiss Design Collection at Walter Knoll. The idea was to recreate the classic Chesterfield lounge chair as a lighter version. This here is Haussmann as a sofa, as elegant and timeless as the classic chair. The characteristic diamond-patterned upholstery is found on the back rest and seat. The thin legs are a nod to the Bauhaus style and its modernity.Haussmann is perfect for the library or office thanks to its comfort and classic look. This sofa will stand the test of time and will withstand many years of being sat upon. The frame is of wooden construction; the seat and back are upholstered with cold foam with an outer layer of padding. Base of tubular steel, polished black chrome. Haussmann is also available as a lounge chair.
