A330S Golden Bell pendant lamp

A330S is a pendant lamp from Artek, designed by Aino and Alvar Aalto in 1937. Nicknamed the "Golden Bell", the lamp was originally created for the interior of the Savoy Restaurant in Helsinki and was exhibited that same year in the Finnish Pavilion at the Paris World's Fair. Its sculptural form gives the lamp a distinct presence in the room, both when illuminated and switched off.

The pendant lamp is made from a single piece of brass or steel. The perforated rim is an integral part of the construction and serves both a visual and functional purpose: light reflects off the metal to create a soft halo effect, while the rim also helps reduce glare. A330S is characterised by Alvar Aalto's signature streamlined design language, combining a rounded silhouette with warm, diffused light. The interplay between the reflections of the metal, the perforated detail and the concentrated form gives the "Golden Bell" its distinctive expression.
