A622 Ceiling Light

A622 is a ceiling lamp designed for Artek by the architect and designer Alvar Aalto in 1953.

Aalto was one of the founders of Artek and designed many classic furniture and interior details for the brand. When Aalto designed a building, he also designed parts of the interior and an example of this is this lamp.

The lamp was originally designed for the Social Insurance Institution in Helsinki, which Aalto designed in the 1950s, but over the years it has become popular in both public environments and private homes. The lamp is robust but at the same time stylish thanks to the hand-riveted slats in white-painted metal. It is mounted on the ceiling and does not have a plug.
