Mademoiselle is a rocking chair designed in 1956 by Ilmari Tapiovaara for Artek. The series also includes the Mademoiselle Lounge Chair. The rocking chair's structure is made of stained or painted birch. The rocking chair is suitable for any home and living room.
Ilmari Tapiovaara got the inspiration for the iconic rocking chair from traditional wicker chairs, which is clearly visible in the design of the high backrest. The designer then added legs with rockers and updated the character of the traditional wicker chair.
