Parentesi Complementary Element

Please note: The Parentesi complementary element is an addition to the Parentesi pendant lamp and cannot be used separately.

Parentesi Element is an additional component for Parentesi by the Italian manufacturer Flos, designed by Achille Castiglioni and Pio Manzù in 1971. The component is intended as an extension to the existing Parentesi pendant light and does not function independently, but is used to expand the system with additional light points along the same cable.

The element consists of a shaped steel tube, available in either a painted or nickel-plated finish, running vertically along a cable tensioned between the ceiling and floor with the help of a cast-iron counterweight. This construction allows for flexible positioning, making it easy to adjust the light point to the desired height. The lamp head is made of black injection-moulded elastomer and features an integrated switch, providing practical and cohesive functionality.

Parentesi Element is part of the further developed Parentesi system, where new components make it possible to customise and expand the lighting according to changing needs. The addition retains the original's technical simplicity and distinctive design language while enabling more flexible use in a variety of environments.
