In 1952, Børge Mogensen, in collaboration with Fredericia Furniture, developed an updated version of the Søborg Wood Base with a steel frame under the name Søborg Wood Metal Base. The chair has a modern, international flair and is suitable for different environments, both at home and in the office. Like its predecessor, it has a generous plywood back and seat. These are available in black lacquered oak, clear lacquered oak, oiled oak, lacquered walnut, and white oiled oak. The chair's steel base is available in black and chrome. If you want to sit on the chair for longer periods, we recommend choosing the fully upholstered version, or the upholstered version.
With Søborg Wood Metal Base, Børge Mogensen has created a chair that combines craftsmanship with innovative technology. The chair has an old-fashioned design and seems as modern today as when it was launched over 60 years ago.
