Drachmann is a seat cushion from Fritz Hansen in Denmark, specially designed for furniture in the Drachmann series. The collection draws inspiration from the garden of Danish Romantic poet and artist Holger Drachmann and is characterised by a balance of Nordic nostalgia and modern simplicity.
The cushion is designed for outdoor use and upholstered in an Oeko-Tex-certified fabric that is colourfast, lightfast, water-repellent and dirt-repellent. The material is also resistant to mould. Inside is a firm and comfortable open-cell foam that allows both water and air to pass through the material. This construction helps Drachmann Cushion dry quickly even after heavy rain, while the foam is designed to retain its structure over time. A separate version is also available for the UK market to meet local fire safety requirements. This variant is made with flame-retardant cold foam, FR cold foam, and does not offer the same weather-resistant properties as the standard version.
