Pelagus is a seat cushion from Fritz Hansen in Denmark, designed in collaboration with Stockholm-based Note Design Studio. The cushion is specifically designed for the Pelagus lounge chair, adding extra softness and comfort without altering its pared-back expression.
The cushion is upholstered in a durable, weather-resistant fabric designed for outdoor use. The filling consists of quick-drying outdoor foam that provides firm and comfortable support. The material is developed to retain its comfort and function over time, while the quick-drying construction makes the cushion practical for use in varying outdoor environments. The Pelagus collection is characterised by a contemporary, lightweight design language with a focus on comfort and versatility. Note Design Studio works across disciplines including architecture and product design, with the relationship between furniture and its surrounding environment forming an important part of the process. Pelagus follows the same functional approach, complementing the lounge chair with additional comfort for extended periods of outdoor relaxation.
