Riviera Lounge is a cushion from Fritz Hansen in Denmark, designed for the Riviera Lounge Bed, which was created in 1991 in collaboration with Danish designer Povl B. Eskildsen. The Riviera collection is characterised by a pared-back design language and a flexible construction that allows the furniture to adapt in both appearance and function.
Riviera Lounge is tailored to fit the lounge furniture and adds a soft, comfortable surface for relaxing outdoors. The cushion can be folded to accommodate the different uses of Riviera Lounge, while a non-slip fabric on the underside helps keep it in place. The upholstery is Oeko-Tex-certified, colourfast and lightfast, water- and dirt-repellent, and resistant to mould. The foam has an open-cell structure that allows water and air to pass through, enabling the cushion to dry quickly after rain. At the same time, the material provides firm, comfortable support and is designed to retain its structure over time. A separate version with flame-retardant cold foam is available for the UK market; this version is not weather-resistant.
