Filet is a cup and saucer set from Gien, France, designed to create a balanced and inviting moment around breakfast or coffee. Its hand-painted decoration creates a subtle expression that harmonises with other pieces from Gien’s collections and contributes to a cohesive table setting.
Crafted from earthenware, the cup holds 30 cl and is paired with a saucer measuring 17.5 cm in diameter, while the cup itself has a diameter of 12 cm. The natural composition of sand, clay and kaolin creates a warm and lively surface, with each piece bearing traces of the craftsmanship behind it. Every set is shaped and finished in Gien’s own workshops through a process involving multiple firings and numerous carefully executed stages carried out by experienced ceramic artisans. The result is a breakfast cup and saucer that combines functionality with a handcrafted expression, designed to be used and appreciated over time.
