In 1990, Onecollection was founded by Ivan Hansen and Henrik Sørensen. The company produces high-quality design in collaboration with designers. In 1999, the company was approached by Finn Juhl’s wife, Hanne Wilhelm Hansen, who proposed to produce one of Finn Juhl’s paintings for an exhibition.

For Onecollection, it was a great opportunity to work with Finn Juhl’s design, and they were very happy to accept. Two years later, the collaboration would evolve into Onecollection receiving the exclusive rights to produce and launch his sculptural and iconic pieces. From this came the House of Finn Juhl.

World-famous design icons of great complexity

When House of Finn Juhl launched Finn Juhl’s furniture, they quickly found that they had to get inside his mind. To succeed in this, it was not enough to meet the technical and commercial requirements – it had to be the right spirit too. This leads to a highly critical approach and an understanding of the complexity behind the production of the original models. Finn Juhl was actually part of the production and worked with master carvers such as Niels Vodder, where a dialogue was established to achieve the best possible results.

House of Finn Juhl relaunches the design classics with the help of original drawings and paintings from private collections, museums, and Finn Juhl’s own home. All pieces are made with the utmost respect for Finn Juhl's heritage and the high standards it demands. The furniture in the House of Finn Juhl range is mainly made in Denmark. The organic, elegant furniture, such as the Poet Sofa and Pelican Chair, is hand-stitched in the same Danish tradition as the originals. When it comes to furniture with intricate wooden frames, such as the iconic Chieftain Chair, House of Finn Juhl has enlisted the help of skilled Japanese craftsmen from Yamagata. Today, House of Finn Juhl has over 40 classic pieces in its range, but there are even more treasures waiting to be discovered.
