Alvar Aalto Vase 120 mm

Alvar Aalto vase 120 mm is a vase from the Finnish brand Iittala. The vase is part of the Alvar Aalto Collection and was designed by Alvar Aalto. The collection's origins date back to 1936 when Aalto presented his entry in the Karhula-Iittala glass design competition, where the characteristic undulating shapes broke with the geometric design language of the time. Inspired by the movements of water, the design has developed into one of the most well-known symbols of Finnish and Scandinavian design.

The vase is manufactured at the Iittala glassworks in Finland through a multi-step process where the glass is first mouth-blown, then cut by hand and finally polished in several stages. Each vase thus has an individual expression. The clear glass surface and the smaller size make the model well suited for medium-sized flower arrangements while also functioning as a standalone interior detail in the living room, hallway or on a set table.
