018 Hoop Table Lamp is a table lamp from the Finnish brand Vaarnii, designed by John Tree. Made of solid Scotch pine and pine veneer with an oil-waxed surface, where a solid wooden base acts as a stable foundation while a thin veneer shade elegantly filters the light. The base is formed from a knot-free block of wood that is processed and the veneer is carefully cut to highlight the wood's grain.
The table lamp is part of a series of lighting where the properties of the material are allowed to change over time, with a surface that can be marked and a tone that develops from light to warmer shades.
