019 Syy chopping board

019 Syy is a cutting board from Finnish brand Vaarnii, designed in-house and crafted from solid Finnish pine. Its substantial construction is designed to withstand various types of chopping and cutting, while allowing the natural grain of the material to play a prominent role in its expression.

The cutting board features an end-grain construction, concentrating the pine's lively grain across the compact surface to create a graphic, natural pattern. The name Syy is Finnish for wood grain, a direct reference to the defining characteristic of the series. The 019 Syy cutting board is available in different sizes and designs. The medium-sized model features generously rounded edges that soften its robust form, while the larger version has straight, square edges. With its solid construction and distinct materiality, the Syy series brings Vaarnii's focus on high-quality, pure Finnish pine to the kitchen work surface.
