Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina designed the first version of the Tolomeo in 1987. Today, Tolomeo is available in several versions and is said to be the most popular desk lamp in the world. In 2012, Tolomeo Midi LED Desk Lamp was designed, which is made of aluminum and steel and is available in two different colors. What distinguishes the Midi from the classic Tolomeo is its size and the fact that the Tolomeo Midi has a long arm which, in combination with the integrated LED lamp, makes it a perfectly small and flexible work lamp.
What has made Tolomeo so popular around the world is the flexibility of the lamp, which allows the entire body to be easily adjusted to direct the light exactly where it is needed. No desk lamp should require you to use two hands to set it up correctly. said Michele De Lucchi when he designed the desk lamp In 1989, Tolomeo's designers received the Compasso d'Oro.
