Aukko Dining Table

Aukko is a round dining table from Danish Ferm Living. Inspired by architectural structures, especially from Can Lis, the table expresses an abstract interpretation of form and function. The tabletop is made of solid, oiled Douglas fir and rests on a cylindrical base of veneer with an MDF core. The ribs are arranged in a graphic pattern that reinforces the table's monolithic presence, while brass details provide a subtle contrast. The table is designed to stand freestanding in the room - as a central dining table in a kitchen or dining room, or in open-plan spaces where the shape is allowed to take visual space. The oiled surface requires regular maintenance with a cloth and wood oil to preserve the wood's properties. Since Douglas fir is a soft wood, the surface can be sensitive to marks from sharp objects.
