Maap W1 is a wall lamp designed by the French designer Erwan Bouroullec for FLOS. Designed in 2026 as part of the Maap series, it combines geometry, natural structures, and lightness in an object that functions as an expansive light surface. The wall lamp consists of LED sources mounted on an iron support attached to a round iron backplate, while the shade is made from an ultra-light, tear-resistant fiber material. The cover is held in place magnetically against the metal frame with large magnetic buttons.
During installation, the material is shaped manually by crumpling it, creating the lamp’s final expression and making each installation unique. The construction provides a soft, diffused light that spreads across a wide surface and is suitable for placement in living rooms, bedrooms, or public environments where an even light distribution is desired. The form can be adjusted over time, making Maap W1 a wall lamp that combines function, material, and an evolving visual expression.
