Rituals 3 is a ceiling lamp from Foscarini, Italy, designed by Ludovica+Roberto Palomba in 2015. The design interprets the soft, atmospheric glow of rice paper lanterns in a contemporary form, replacing traditional paper with blown glass.

The glass has undergone a special surface treatment that gives the lamp its characteristic texture and influences how the light is filtered through the shade. The compact form creates a cohesive expression, while the subdued and pleasant light gives the lamp a soft presence in the room. The combination of material, surface and light distribution highlights the contrast between the solid glass and the visual lightness associated with rice paper lanterns. The Rituals 3 ceiling lamp has a size that makes it suitable for many different types of spaces. The understated form allows the texture of the glass and the lighting effect to take centre stage, giving the lamp a distinct character whether it is switched on or off.
