Cutter 120 Bench

Cutter is a bench from Fritz Hansen in Denmark, designed by Danish designer Niels Hvass. The bench is part of the Cutter collection, which draws inspiration from the German Bauhaus movement and is characterised by a minimalist design language with a clear focus on function and usability.

Cutter Bench is based on a simple construction in which a slatted seat rests on a continuous frame. The straight lines and regular rhythm between the slats give the bench a light, graphic expression. Its pared-back form makes it easy to place in different settings, particularly in the hallway, where it can serve as a practical seat. The teak version is also suitable for outdoor use. Niels Hvass places the user experience at the centre of the design process and strives to create functional furniture with a distinctive expression. In Cutter Bench, this is reflected in the uncomplicated construction, considered proportions and interplay between form and function.
