HL is an outdoor wall lamp designed by Danish architect Henning Larsen in 1961. Its timeless design brings material and light and function together. The lamp is made to provide warm and pleasant light outdoors.
The upper shade is made from brushed copper and paired with a lower shade in transparent acrylic. The arm is made from powder-coated steel with a brown bronze finish. These materials give the lamp a balanced appearance centred on the warm copper surface. Over time the brushed copper develops a natural green-blue patina that changes the lamp’s character. The patina also acts as a protective layer and gives each HL Wall an individual appearance as the material ages. The design reflects Henning Larsen’s close relationship with light which was central to his work in both architecture and design.
