Series 7 chair 3107 coloured ash veneer

Fritz Hansen's bestseller Sjuan, or Series 7, was designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1955 and is a further development of Jacobsen's classic Myran chair. Sjuan is based on the same innovative manufacturing process. The seat and backrest are created in a single pressed piece, consisting of nine layers of veneer layered with two layers of Indian cotton and pressed into its correct shape over steam. This has given Sjuan its thin and elegant shell that seemingly consists of a whole piece of wood, the backrest can also be folded down, which contributes to the high comfort. The chair is available in a range of different types of wood and colors, with a colored, clear lacquered or fully lacquered finish. A colored surface allows the natural structure and grain of the wood to remain visible, making each chair unique. With a fully lacquered surface, each chair is identical. Sjuan has neat chrome-plated legs that come in several different designs to choose from. The chair is also stackable up to twelve chairs high. If you wish to order a combination of seat and leg colors that we do not offer here, please contact our customer service who will help you.

Sjuan has become Fritz Hansen's best-selling chair in history by far, and despite more than 60 years having passed since its launch, the design still feels innovative thanks to Jacobsen's timeless design language. Nordiska Galleriet was the first retailer of Sjuan in Sweden, and the chair is still our best-selling piece of furniture today. Its popularity speaks volumes about the chair's iconic status. In Sjuan, form, function and modern design history come together, making the chair a design icon and a favorite with us. Sjuan is available as a dining chair, office chair, bar stool, armchair, and in children's size. Choose from a range of natural veneers, colored ash or fully lacquered beech in a large selection of colors. The seat is also available with the front upholstered or fully upholstered.
