VDL is a floor lamp from the Italian brand Martinelli Luce. Designed by Richard Neutra in 1931, it is a floor lamp that expresses the principles that characterize international modernism, with a focus on geometry, function and proportion. The construction consists of a slender, straight stem in satin-brushed stainless steel, a hemispherical reflector and a circular base that together create a clear and balanced design language.
The lamp provides indirect light that is reflected via the curved shade and contributes to a soft and pleasant lighting in the room. The varying reflections in the steel surface enhance the visual expression of the lamp and change depending on the light and surroundings. The floor lamp comes with an integrated light source and has a dimmer on the cable, which makes it possible to adjust the light as needed.
