Originally designed by architecture and design studio Ductus for Byredo stores worldwide, the Gaucho armchair is now being launched for a wider audience. Its inspiration comes from a journey through South America and the region’s design and craft traditions. Gaucho takes its name from the South American counterpart of the cowboy. The contrast between solid wood and soft cowhide, together with the cowhide-covered wedge at the side, gives Gaucho its distinctive character. Its visible construction and architectural precision are balanced by generous comfort. The armchair is available in alder with cream-coloured cowhide or walnut with black-and-white cowhide.
