Starlight - Series Structure and Light Function

The Starlight series is based on a functional design where each luminaire acts as an adjustable spotlight. This makes it possible to direct light towards specific surfaces or objects and is suitable for both accent lighting and more focused general lighting.

The luminaires use GU10 light sources, providing flexibility in choosing brightness and color temperature. Several variants are dimmable and can be adjusted from warmer to brighter light depending on the need.

The system is built around a ceiling track that allows spotlights to be placed and adjusted along the track. This provides an adaptable solution where the direction and distribution of light can be changed over time, depending on how the room is used.

Material Choices and Designs for Starlight

The Starlight series is available in several variants, such as Starlight 1, Starlight 3, and Starlight 6, where the number indicates how many spotlights each luminaire has. This makes it possible to adapt the lighting to both the room's size and how the light should be distributed. The series also includes a Starlight chandelier with nine light sources.

The luminaires are manufactured in metal with various surface treatments. Raw brass and raw copper are untreated materials that change over time, acquiring a darker and more varied surface. Raw steel also occurs, providing a more industrial expression.

Some models are surface-treated, for example, with copper or brass plating, which provides a smoother and more controlled finish. There are also versions in lacquered steel as well as powder-coated variants in black or white, with a durable and uniform surface.

The Starlight series is designed by Jonas Bohlin, a Swedish designer and interior architect with a background from Konstfack (University of Arts, Crafts and Design). His work often stems from clear constructions and materials that are allowed to be visible in the design.

In the Starlight series, this is evident through a stripped-down structure where function and light direction are central. The form is directly linked to how the luminaire is used.

The series is produced by Örsjö Belysning, a Swedish company with manufacturing in Småland and a focus on lighting for both private and public environments.
