Rods, from the Swedish brand String, are designed to be used together with perforated metal or galvanized shelves within the modular String System, designed by Nisse Strinning in 1949. The rods are available in widths of 24 cm, 53 cm and 72 cm. The 53 cm and 72 cm variants are mounted along the width of the shelf, while the 24 cm can also be mounted in depth – provided that the shelf is 30 cm deep. The mounting is done directly in the shelf's perforations and provides extended functionality for storing smaller items. The accessory is suitable for hallways or wardrobes and serves as a suspension for hangers from the system. It is also a solution for scarves, shawls or dog leashes. Each package contains one rod and can be combined with other parts in the system for a more organized surface.
