The Eames Stool from the Vitra brand was designed by Charles and Ray Eames in the 1960s as part of an interior design assignment for Time Inc. in Rockefeller Center in New York. In addition to the iconic Lobby Chair, the couple also created this stool made of chestnut. The stool is part of Vitra's collection of side tables and stools and is distinguished by its sculptural shape and dual function. The design language bears traces of the Eames couple's pursuit of balance between form and function, with a clear sense of craftsmanship in the execution. Each stool has its own silhouette but shares the same dimensions and choice of materials, which creates a unified whole even when combined in a group.
