Kaari REB008 is designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for the Finnish furniture manufacturer Artek. The design duo and the Bouroullec brothers created an elegant collection called Kaari for Artek, which is a series of shelving systems that combine stylish design with simple construction. In a similar way to how Alvar Aalto made his signature in the form of slightly curved L-shapes as support for everything from chairs, tables and stools, the Bouroullec brothers wanted to combine solid wood with steel to create stability for the Kaari collection. In the series you will find tables and wall shelves in beautiful combinations of material and shape.
The wall shelf has wall brackets that are made of solid wood that is then coated with a protective varnish. The brackets are made of black-lacquered steel and provide diagonal support for the shelves. The system includes three variants of wall shelves, one of which has a built-in desk.
