Kori Pendant Light

Kori Pendant Light is a pendant lamp from the brand Artek. The lamp was designed by Stockholm-based TAF Studio 2023 and is part of the Kori Collection, a series where direct and indirect light are combined through a central basket-like construction. Kori means “basket” in Finnish and refers to the element that forms the basis of the collection’s lighting principle.

The lamp directs a practical and glare-free light towards the surface below, while a wider cone of softer indirect light is spread upwards into the room. The combination makes the pendant lamp useful as both general lighting and task lighting depending on the placement. The compact shape fits in smaller spaces such as hallways, above sideboards or mounted in series over kitchen counters. As part of the Kori Collection, the lamp is based on the same construction as the other models in the series, with a focus on how the light is distributed between the surface under the luminaire and the surrounding room. The pendant lamp can therefore be used alone or together with several pieces to create a coherent lighting over longer surfaces.
