The Trienna Table was designed by Ilmari Tapiovaara in 1954 for the Finnish furniture manufacturer Artek. It was only in 2007 that the table went into production and is as modern now as it was on the sketchbook, which also paid off when the table was awarded the "Best Reissued Table" award in The Wallpaper Magazine in 2008.
When Tapiovaara sketched the table, he had in mind making a coffee table that was light in weight and easy to move around. However, another basic idea with Trienna was to be able to create larger groups in a "honeycomb pattern" by using several tables.
The coffee table is made of veneered molded birch and is available in the options of white lacquered, black stained or clear lacquered birch veneer, or clear lacquered oak veneer or walnut veneer. It works perfectly as a coffee table, as well as a side table or side table in the living room, bedroom or hallway.
