Mi 478 Pernilla 3 Lounge Chair

The Pernilla 3 lounge chair was designed in 1944 by designer Bruno Mathsson, and is still manufactured today by the brand Bruno Mathsson International. Like the two other versions of the armchair, the lounge chair is also named after journalist Pernilla Thunberger who visited Bruno Mathsson for an interview earlier that year. Today, the series of three different models is considered Sweden's most famous armchairs.

Bruno Mathsson's Pernilla 3 comes with a seat made of solid birch and a structure made of bent-glued beech. This combination is a constant recurring feature in the designer's work and is recognizable by the sculpturally curved legs and armrests. As a comfortable and decorative detail, the lounger also comes with a leather-covered headrest. We have chosen to show the most popular color combinations between headrest and upholstery. However, you can change the color of the headrest upon request.

With us you can also choose between several types of upholstery for the lounger. Pernilla 3 can be purchased in either braided linen girth, full-coverage leather upholstery or in a soft and sturdy sheepskin. The sheepskin model is available in the colors Black, Drake, Offwhite and Scandinavian Grey. The leather upholstery in Elmosoft can be chosen in both natural, cognac or black. For the girth and linen girth you will find a black variant and two earthy alternatives respectively.
