Fritz Hansen's Caravaggio Read lamp series was designed in 2014 by Cecilie Manz for Fritz Hansen and is a refinement of her iconic Caravaggio series from 2005. Read includes a wall lamp, a table lamp, and a floor lamp. They are available in two different versions, with matte lacquered steel or hand-blown opal glass, while the lacquered version of the wall lamp is available in white, green, or black. The lamp has a shade in the classic Caravaggio design mounted on a flexible arm that allows you to direct the light and turn the lamp 180 degrees. The metal version provides a soft directional light while the opal glass version provides a more diffused light. The top of the shade has three narrow slits that allow the light to spread upwards and the light button is discreetly placed on the bottom of the lamp base. In Caravaggio Read, Cecilie Manz combines classic lamp design with a modern expression, creating a timeless design suitable for many contexts.
