Kaiser Idell is a classic series of lighting from Fritz Hansen, designed by Christian Dell in original Bauhaus design in 1931. This model is a table lamp with tilting lamp head. Kaiser Idell consists in total of two table lamps, two floor lamps, one wall lamp and one ceiling lamp. All made of brass and steel, with chrome-plated accents of silver-soldered brass polished by hand. The lampshade is painted with high gloss lacquer or matte lacquer and is available in a variety of colors.
Christian Dell was a German silversmith and early industrial designer who became known for his pioneering and innovative style when he was foreman of the Bauhaus sheet metal workshop in the 1920s. In 1926, Dell began designing lamps for the Gebr. Kaiser Co. where his iconic 6631 Luxus table lamp first appeared in their catalog in 1936.
