Pelagus is an outdoor chair from Fritz Hansen in Denmark, designed in collaboration with Stockholm-based Note Design Studio. The chair is part of the Pelagus collection, characterised by a contemporary, lightweight design language with a focus on comfort and flexibility. The collection is designed to fit just as naturally into urban settings as into more nature-oriented surroundings.
The seat and backrest are made from teak and combined with a powder-coated aluminium frame. This combination of materials gives Pelagus a slender, lightweight construction that is also stable and designed for outdoor use. The chair is comfortable for extended periods around the dining table, while its slender profile makes it easy to integrate into different architectural settings. Its low weight makes the chair easy to move as needed, and up to four chairs can be stacked for practical storage. Note Design Studio’s holistic approach to product design is expressed through the interplay of materials, proportions and function. Pelagus works well around a dining table on the terrace, patio or in the garden.
