Virkelyst is a collection of outdoor furniture from Fritz Hansen in Denmark, designed by the design studio Says Who with Nikolaj Duve and Kasper Meldgaard. The collection is characterised by clean lines, understated details and generous proportions, with a focus on high levels of comfort. The design language draws inspiration from 1950s Danish design, where Scandinavian simplicity and functionality meet a contemporary expression.
The frame is made from teak and combined with thick, soft cushions that create a distinct contrast with the clean lines of the wood. The weather-resistant upholstery is Oeko-Tex® certified and offers high colour and light fastness. The fabric is also water- and dirt-repellent and resistant to mould, making it well suited to outdoor environments. The cushions contain open-cell foam that allows both water and air to pass through the material. This enables the cushions to dry quickly even after heavy rain. Virkelyst is designed for long, comfortable periods outdoors and is naturally suited to both terraces and gardens, whether for relaxation or socialising.
