Crafted from earthenware with a capacity of 40 cl, the sauce boat features a warm and lively surface created by the natural composition of sand, clay and kaolin. Its form is both practical and carefully proportioned, designed for serving where precision and ease of handling are just as important as the overall presentation. Each piece is shaped and finished in Gien’s own workshops through a process involving multiple firings and numerous stages carried out by experienced ceramic artisans. The result is a sauce boat with subtle variations, where the handcrafted expression and material qualities contribute to a thoughtful and cohesive table setting over time.
