Liv Outdoor Chair

Liv is an outdoor chair from Swedish Ingridsdotter. It was designed by Jonas Bohlin in 1997 as part of the liv collection, inspired by a rowing trip from Stockholm to Paris a few years earlier. The chair has a frame in matt lacquered steel and a seat in stained oak, which gives it a robust but restrained expression. The shape of the back, which resembles a drop of water, gives the construction a visual softness despite the solid choice of materials. Liv is placed in outdoor environments where a sculptural presence is sought without sacrificing function.
