Cesca Armchair is an armchair from Knoll designed by Marcel Breuer in 1928. The chair, which has now become a design classic, is inspired by the way steel was bent when making bicycles. The chair has a base made of a single piece of tubular steel that has been bent to create flexibility and stability. The back is made of rattan and the frame can be chosen from either light or black beech and the chair is also available without armrests.
By using traditional craft techniques combined with industrial methods and materials, Marcel Breuer succeeded in creating an international sensation and modern institution with his steel furniture, which today is among the most copied pieces of furniture of the 20th century.
